About
Pamela Campos-Palma is an American political strategist,
a millennial post-9/11 military veteran, and a human rights defender focused on transforming peace, security, and justice for the multi-cultural working class of the 21st century in order to end generational violence,
war profiteering, and political corruption at home and abroad.
The first-U.S. born daughter of Honduran and Guatemalan immigrants of the 1980’s, Pam enlisted in the United States Air Force out of high school as an Operations Intelligence & Anti-Terrorism Analyst in 2006. While on active duty under then-President Obama, Pam was deployed twice in support of combat and force protection operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and successfully organized enlisted peers and officers in her unit to whistle blow against workplace abuse and a toxic chain of command in 2010. Despite enduring professional retaliation, Pam continued her military service as a Reservist while simultaneously joining the immigrant rights and farmworker movement and being nominated as a gubernatorial appointee by then Governor John Kitzhaber as the first ever student on the Board of Trustees of Oregon’s largest public university.
A trusted partner and impactful advisor to key movement leaders, lawmakers, institutions, and campaigns, Pam has been internationally recognized and lauded for her visionary leadership and masterful bridging of grassroots community organizing and treetop policymaking. For over a decade, Pam has served as a bold and instrumental catalyst advancing progressive peace and security and the power of the military and veteran community through movement building, leadership development, and as a respected voice on civilian-military affairs. In 2018 and 2020 Pam led delegations of military veterans to serve as human rights observers on the US-Mexico border, first in Tijuana and later Matamoros. In 2019 Pam gave a landmark Congressional testimony regarding military recruitment, retention, and abuse of power and impunity within the ranks. During the 2020 Uprising, Pam helped train and mobilize thousands of #VetsforBlackLives, Election Defenders, and #VetsforthePeople in every state and over 20 countries in defense of life, freedom, and justice. That same year, Pam led national pressure campaigns for #JusticeForVanessaGuillen and #ShutDownFortHood successfully boycotting military enlistment that compelled the first of it’s kind, independent, civilian-led independent audit and report and effectively won structural change of the U.S. military justice system.
Pam is a 2019 Atlantik-Brücke transatlantic alumna, was named a "Top 40 Under 40 Latinos in Foreign Policy" by Huffington Post, and a Champion of Change by UN-NY. Pam earned her Masters in Public Administration in International Management & Policy from NYU and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science & Civic Leadership from Portland State University. A frequently requested speaker and commissioned writer, Pam has been a featured expert on MSNBC, CNN, BBC, and NPR, among others, and currently resides in St Petersburg, FL.
